  • Wills & Trusts

You have several options when making a gift in your will or trust; give a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the residue (what is left after debts and bequests are satisfied). Please contact an attorney specializing in estate planning to help you decide what options are best for you.

NOTE: SOS DRS’ legal name is: Servants of St. Camillus Disaster Relief Services, Inc.

  • Stocks & Mutual Funds

If you hold appreciated securities, such as stocks and mutual funds, giving them to charity may be a desirable option for you. With the help of your broker and/or financial advisor, determine the specific stock(s) or mutual fund(s) and the best date to donate.

  • Life Insurance Policies

With the help of your Insurance Agent, you can name SOS-DRS as a beneficiary of a policy.  Alternatively, you can also donate the ownership of an existing policy to SOS-DRS, offering us a charitable donation each year in an amount similar to the annual insurance premium.  Those gifts then count as charitable donations.  SOS-DRS then pays the annual premium.

NOTE: SOS DRS’ legal name is: Servants of St. Camillus Disaster Relief Services, Inc.

  • IRA Accounts

Another easy gift to make involves using your IRA.  Simply call up the company holding the IRA and tell them you want to designate Servants of St. Camillus Relief Services as the beneficiary of retirement plans, such as IRAs, 401(k)s and other pension accounts.

  • Charitable Remainder Trusts

In this type of trust, a donor uses an Estate Planning Attorney to create the trust and then turns over property or assets to the trust.  Assets and earnings from the trust then provide income for the donor during the donor’s life and, if you choose, during the life of a named beneficiary such as a spouse.  Upon the death of the final beneficiary, the trust ends and the remaining principal is given to SOS-DRS
